Interestingly enough, upon initially downloading the app from the MAS, my Menu bar disappeared. I have deleted the MAS 9.18 app from my HD (can always be re downloaded) and can confirm that vs9.24 works flawlessly by its lonesome self. I haven't yet had time to test drive mine so can't yet speak to how it works.
